Visitor Center & Gift Shop

Yew Dell Architecture Tour

  • Welcome to Yew Dell Botanical Gardens– an internationally recognized and award-winning horticulture center offering stunning garden displays, education programs for all ages and knowledge levels, community programs, nature trails and event rentals.
  • Yew Dell consists of 60 acres that were originally operated as the home, farm and commercial nursery of Theodore Klein and his family. It was rescued from demolition in 2002 and opened to the public in 2004.
  • The barn that currently houses the Visitor’s Center and Garden Gift Shop was originally used as a space to cure tobacco. Yew Dell was a mixed use farm that raised livestock, row crops, tree fruits and vegetables as well as nursery stock.
  • The barn was refurbished in 2005 and the Visitor’s Center added in 2010, later winning the highest Honor Award from the KY Chapter of the American Institute of Architects for its innovative design.
