Guidelines & Accessibility

Help us maintain this Living Museum for all visitors to enjoy!

Accessibility

We are committed to making Yew Dell Gardens welcoming and accessible to all.

The core areas of the gardens feature paved pathways that are wheelchair accessible. Our restrooms and event spaces are also designed to accommodate guests with mobility needs.

If you have specific accessibility questions or would like help planning your visit, please use the button below to contact us. We ask that requests be submitted at least three business days in advance so our team can review and respond appropriately.

Photography Policy

We welcome personal photography for non-commercial use with a handheld camera or phone.

● Photography that includes props, tripods, lighting, or is intended for commercial use (including barter) requires prior approval, a prepaid fee, and adherence to our Photo Policy.
● Drone use is not permitted anywhere on the property.

By entering Yew Dell Gardens, you grant permission for your image to be used in our promotional materials, including social media, marketing, and publications.

Garden Etiquette

We’re delighted to welcome you to Yew Dell Botanical Gardens. To help ensure a positive experience for all guests and to preserve the gardens, plants and facilities, we ask that you follow the guidelines outlined below.

Check-In & Admission

  • All visitors — members and non-members — must check in at the Visitor Center before entering the grounds.
  • Admission is not required to visit the Garden Gift Shop.
  • Please note that our main gate locks promptly at closing time (4 p.m.), so plan your visit accordingly.

Courtesy & Safety

  • Children under 16 must be supervised by an adult at all times.
  • Smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere on the grounds.
  • Active sports (soccer, football, frisbee, etc.), bicycles, drones and powered vehicles are not allowed.
  • In the event of severe weather, we may close the gardens temporarily for everyone’s safety.

Caring for the Gardens

Our team works hard to maintain beautiful plantings for everyone to enjoy. Please:

  • Stay on paved paths, grassy areas, or designated mulch trails.
  • Refrain from picking flowers, leaves, or fruit.
  • Avoid climbing on trees, sculptures, or garden structures.
  • Do not play in fountains, pools, or other water features.

Pets & Wildlife

  • We welcome leashed, well-behaved dogs on select Sundays during Hounds on the Grounds.
  • Service animals (as defined by the ADA) are always welcome.
  • Pets must never be left in vehicles.
  • Please respect all wildlife and our beloved garden cats.

Environmental

  • Please use the trash bins near the Visitor Center and Rock House.
  • Balloons are not allowed, as they can harm plants and animals.
