Visiting Yew Dell

Yes! We offer extended evening hours during special events. Visit our Classes & Events page for a detailed listing of upcoming programs.

Absolutely! We offer a variety of self-guided children’s activities every day at the Visitor’s Center, plus the Fairy Forest, special programs and events just for kids. Learn more on our Children’s Activities page.

Non-professional photos for personal use are welcome. However, any photographer using tripods, lighting, props, or profiting from sessions must schedule a session, complete paperwork, and pay a fee. Please see our Photography Policy for details.

No — Yew Dell is a smoke-free facility. Smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere on our grounds.

Service animals are always welcome! Well-behaved and leashed dogs are welcome for Hounds on the Ground on Sundays, from Noon to 4 p.m., March 9 through December 14, 2025. For blackout dates and more information, visit our Hours, Admission & Directions page.

Volunteering

Not at all! We welcome volunteers of all skill levels and provide guidance so you can learn as you go. Explore opportunities on our Volunteer page.

  • Ages 7 – 13: MUST volunteer with direct parent/guardian supervision.

  • Ages 14 – 17: Volunteers may volunteer independently with a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Parents/guardians MUST walk their youth volunteer to the Horticulture Center to clock them in and check in with Yew Dell staff member at the start of their volunteer shift.

Yes! Yew Dell is a fantastic place to complete school community service hours, and we encourage youth volunteers to get involved.

Rentals and Events

Yes! We offer beautiful spaces for corporate meetings, retreats and private celebrations. Learn more on our Private Event Rentals page.

  • Online Plant Market: Explore our constantly updated selection of plants from the comfort of home.
  • Garden Gift Shop: From spring through fall, discover seasonal favorites in person.
