SOLD OUT: Let’s Get Growing: Vegetable Garden Planning Guide, Session 1 of 4 – Winter – In-Person Workshop
Join Emma Stidham, mom, wife, and horticulturist with more than 15 years of experience in vegetable gardening, public gardens, and retail sales, as we kick off our Vegetable Garden Planning series with the Winter session. In this comprehensive step-by-step guide to planning a vegetable garden over an entire season, each quarter will focus on timely topics to get your garden from start to finish. We’ll go from seed catalog to fall harvest in the four workshops. Note that each session has a separate registration fee.
For the Winter session, we’ll get started with planning, mapping, ordering seeds, growing young plants at home, and early spring plantings. Stick around after the workshop for a garden walk. Please note that the session will switch to Virtual Format if we have inclement weather.
The Spring session will highlight bed preparation, soil and fertilizer info, planting techniques, and pests in the garden.
For Summer, learn about succession plantings, trellising ideas, harvesting and processing the yields, and additional pests in the garden.
Finally for Fall, we’ll wrap-up with garden clean-up and preparation for next season, cover/winter crops, and an overall garden recap.
Keep an eye out for notice about registering for additional sessions. Attend all four, and we’ll reward your dedication with a plant from our gardens!
