Theodore Klein built the Castle to serve as the family’s pool house. The pool was built into the now grassy terrace in front of the building – complete windows built into the pool sides so his kids could swim underwater and wave at the cows in the field below.
He carved the sun dial and other features that adorn the front of the castle. Klein and his daughter also designed the family crest affixed above the window to the right of the entrance.
Klein did much of the construction work himself including the chandeliers suspended from the ceiling and the herringbone brick work that lines the fireplace.
